POTD floors are generated as subsets of a master floor layout. The master floor layouts are 21 rooms arranged in a 5x5 grid (with the four corners of the grid not containing a room). There are two master floor layouts that can be chosen between (Called 'A' and 'B' here).
Once a master floor layout is chosen, any number of contiguous rooms are chosen, and all other rooms from the master layout are sealed off.
In order to help identify rooms, thumbnails of each room from above are placed on the master grid. Cell background colors are the color that the room's ambient light is tinted (where applicable). Hallway shapes between rooms are constant also, but are not shown here, as those seemed to make finding rooms on the grids slower compared to just looking at room details.

The detection radius for standing on a hoard spot seems to be 2-3 yalms.
Clicking on a room's thumbnail will open the full-sized image for that room.

*Note: The thumbnail size links do not work in Firefox. Sorry. Firefox does not suport the "zoom" style, and the alternative "transform: scale" seems to have major issues without doing explicit page layout, and I want to keep things as simple as possible.
